As a Dyslexia Interventionist at AIM, you will:
Empower Students: Plan and provide dyslexia interventions, ensuring alignment with IEP.
Assessment Expertise: Collaborate in evaluations to assess students with dyslexia and determine eligibility for services.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance literacy skills in students.
Professional Development: Provide valuable insights and professional development to school personnel to identify and understand dyslexia.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Licenses: Valid DL; Texas Teaching Certificate with Reading Specialist Certification or certification in a multi-sensory structured language program for dyslexia (i.e. Wilson, Take Flight, Barton, Reading by Design, MTA, etc.)
Language Skills: Monolingual or Bilingual
Experience Preferred:
Minimum five years teaching experience
Knowledge of dyslexia and instruction of students identified with dyslexia and related disorders; The Dyslexia Interventionist facilitates small-group dyslexia instruction using research-based instruction in accordance with the Texas Dyslexia Handbook and district dyslexia policies and procedures. Serves as an instructional literacy leader and as a resource in the development and improvement of dyslexia programs.
