POSITION: Intern - School Psychology
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current enrollment in an internship or practicum in a School Psychology program in a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
- Working towards completion of a graduate degree in School Psychology from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.
- Seeking to complete an internship with a minimum of 1200 hours in accordance with licensing requirements set forth by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists.
- Seeking to gain a site-based experience in order to directly provide the application of assessment, intervention, behavior management, and consultation, for children representing a range of ages, populations and needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As an intern at AIM, you will have the exciting opportunity to:
- Conduct full and individual evaluations of students referred for special education placement.
- Engage in the development of individual educational plans, contributing your fresh perspective and innovative ideas.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community agencies to explore effective intervention strategies for students facing learning and behavior challenges.
- Dive into providing psychological services, actively identifying students within the scope of the LSSP license.
- Participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal Committee, contributing to the appropriate placement and development of Individual Education Plans in alignment with district procedures.
- Showcase your organizational skills by compiling, maintaining, and filing essential reports, records, and documents.
- Embrace a diverse range of tasks and duties assigned by AIM, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field.
