Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Estimator Coordinator to support our estimating team in delivering accurate and timely project estimates. The Estimator Coordinator plays a crucial role in the commercial construction process, focusing on preconstruction planning, estimating, and coordination with a specific emphasis on waterproofing and related trades. This position ensures that all project data, documentation, and stakeholder communications are efficiently managed, enabling the estimating team to focus on technical deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist estimators with collecting, organizing, and analyzing project data for bids and proposals.
- Coordinate subcontractor and vendor bid solicitations and ensure timely submissions.
- Review project plans, specifications, and addenda for accuracy and relevance.
- Maintain the estimating schedule and track deadlines for proposals, bids, and RFIs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders during the preconstruction phase.
- Ensure timely dissemination of bid documents, addenda, and clarifications to all team members.
- Develop and maintain subcontractor and supplier databases, ensuring up-to-date contact and trade information.
- Prepare bid submission packages, ensuring all required forms, certifications, and pricing are included.
- Generate and distribute internal reports on bid progress, outcomes, and hit rates.
- Maintain an organized filing system for estimates, proposals, and historical cost data.
- Communication
- Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and the sales team to provide project insights and feedback during post-bid discussions.
- Interface with clients and design professionals to clarify project requirements.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in construction estimating, preconstruction coordination, or related roles.
- Specific experience in commercial waterproofing or building envelope systems is a strong plus.
- Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and cost structures.
- Proficient in construction estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of commercial waterproofing materials, systems, and installation techniques is highly desirable.
