We're looking for a RN or LVN on-call / runner to cover just Mission Hills or both Mission Hills and Los Angeles branches.

Weekday standby rate- $50 per day ($100 if covering Mission Hills and Los Angeles)

Weekend standby rate- $100 per day ($200 per day if covering Mission Hills and Los Angeles)

On call visit rate for LVN- $57 $11 for mileage

On call visit rate for RN- Admission- $195 per visit $11 for mileage

On call visit rate for RN- Routine- $105 per visit $11 for mileage

Qualifications

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills

Compassionate and caring demeanor

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

Current, active, license as an RN or LVN by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners

CPR certified

Valid driver's license, auto insurance, reliable transportation and willingness to drive to patient locations

Preferred one year experience in hospice and palliative care or similar field

Responsibilities

Be responsible for maintaining patient information and patient health consistent with the mission and goals of the Agency

Provide intermittent visits or shifts of skilled nursing care, performs prescribed medical treatments, including pain management and symptom control, provides nursing observations, provides teaching regarding the expected course of the disease, care techniques and other health measures to the patient, family or other primary care giver, provides counseling and supportive care to the patient and family, and participates in the care plan development and implementation

Perform procedures at a level of care standard within the medical community, scope of practice consistent with the Vocational Nursing Practice Act and follows Agency's current policies and procedures

Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient services according to the plan of care

Continuous Care as directed

Communicate with the interdisciplinary team regarding changes in the patient's condition and / or needs

Field nurse required to make visits to patients during on-call shift within the service area

Ensure quality and safe delivery of hospice care nursing s ervices
