Overview
The Assisted Living Manager plays a vital role in overseeing the daily operations of an assisted living facility, ensuring that residents receive high-quality care and support. This position requires a compassionate leader who can effectively manage staff, develop care plans, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. The Assisted Living Manager is responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment for seniors, particularly those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
You must have a 26-hour core training course and must have passed the state's core competency exam administered by The MacDonald Research Institute (TMRI) for this position.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the assisted living facility, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for residents, focusing on their unique needs and preferences.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluations to foster a skilled and compassionate caregiving team.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical care and support services for residents.
- Maintain accurate records related to resident care, staffing, and financial management.
- Ensure a safe environment by conducting regular inspections and addressing any safety concerns promptly.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff to promote a supportive community atmosphere.
- Provide leadership in crisis situations, ensuring the well-being of residents at all times.
Skills
- Strong financial acumen to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Experience in home care or nursing home settings is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership abilities to inspire and guide a diverse team of caregivers.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices to provide specialized support for residents with cognitive impairments.
- Familiarity with senior care best practices and regulations governing assisted living facilities.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual resident needs.
