The Dietary Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the dietary department within a healthcare facility. The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in preparing food, setting up meal trays, food carts and serving food and performing dishwashing and cleaning duties as directed/instructed and in accordance with established food policies and procedure.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct patient assessments to develop tailored dietary plans that meet individual nutritional needs.
- Oversee budgeting processes, including food purchasing and inventory management, to maintain cost-effective operations.
- Lead a team of dietary staff, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations to enhance team effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of dietary services and ensure proper documentation for compliance purposes.
- Other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing a dietary department within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on health coaching techniques.
