We are looking for a compassionate and reliable male caregiver to assist an elderly gentleman with dementia in a home setting. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing care for seniors with dementia, and will be dedicated to improving the quality of life for the individual under their care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with daily activities such as dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Help with mobility and transfers (may require light lifting).
- Reminder to take meds
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding.
- Maintain a safe and clean living environment.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks.
- Observe and report any changes in the patient's condition or behavior to family members or medical professionals.
- Offer cognitive stimulation and activities appropriate for the patient’s condition.
Qualifications:
- Previous caregiving experience, particularly with elderly individuals or those with dementia, is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with the patient and family members.
- Empathy, patience, and a caring attitude are essential.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Must pass background check and provide references.
- CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
- Must be physically able to assist with mobility and daily activities.
