Supervises: None
Position Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Associated Credit Union in living out its Mission: To offer members financial products that fulfill their needs, service that exceeds their expectations, and relationships that inspire their trust.
The Mortgage Loan Servicer through teamwork and commitment will work with each other to provide excellent member service and earn the member’s trust in servicing their mortgage or home equity loan throughout the life of the loan.
Essential Functions & Core Duties
- Process loan payments and payoffs for mortgage loans.
- Work with investors to ensure accurate reporting of loans serviced by the credit union for that investor.
- Work with the membership on resolving any errors or omissions related to the servicing of their real estate loan.
- Process the property tax, homeowner’s insurance, flood insurance, and mortgage insurance payments for all escrowed mortgage loans.
- Work with vendor to ensure that each mortgage loan has valid homeowner’s and flood insurance coverage.
- Properly record the receipt and release of the security deeds for each mortgage and home equity loan.
- Work with the investors to ensure the Notes are received by the document custodians and they are returned by the document custodians after loan payoff.
- Answering an equal share of the calls presented to the hunt group and providing a positive member experience that earns the member’s trust.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist management, loan origination teams, and loan underwriting team, with other tasks/duties as needed to ensure that the member’s experience with their loan is a positive one.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School graduate or equivalent. Some college is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years in a financial institution.

- Ability to build effective working relationships inside and outside the credit union.
- Ability to handle multiple files and tasks during the day.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively via in-person, email and telephone.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Deadline driven.
- Extremely organized.
- Self-starter and have the ability to work with limited supervision, be proactive and flexible.
General Operational Requirements:
- Lifting of files and moving carts with files requires physical exertion.
Performance Metrics
- Loans set up by their first payment due dates.
- Escrow invoices paid by their due dates.
- Log-in and answer hunt group phone calls 75% of your work day, each day
- Follow ACU Mortgage procedures as well as meeting the rules of the Fannie Mae Servicing Guide.
