Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Associate to be part of our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and must have excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. This position will support the daily operations of the accounting and management team and is expected to maintain confidentiality and complete tasks in a timely manner. Strong Excel skills are required, and experience in the construction industry is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reporting packages to management.
- Review subcontractor insurance and ensure compliance with our requirements.
- Process electronic payments to vendors.
- Collection of delinquent customer accounts.
- Prepare journal entries as needed to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Track incoming payments and complete bank deposits.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Process weekly payroll.
- Assist with company benefit administration.
- Process new hire paperwork.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Accounting; Two or more years of office-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Human Resources experience preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook
- Must currently be an NC notary or have the ability to become an NC notary
