The MRO Center Store Operational Specialist plays a crucial role in leading and motivating the center store departments within retail locations. This position is responsible for ensuring that department managers meet operational and merchandising expectations while promoting best practices. The Specialist maximizes department standards by training team members in effective stocking, ordering, purchasing, and merchandising techniques. Regular travel to assigned stores in Utah and parts of Colorado is required to coach department managers and team members, ensuring compliance with all standards and identifying areas for improvement. Additionally, the Specialist will oversee special projects such as remodels and merchandising updates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Training & Development : Teach and train department managers and team members in the skills and techniques necessary for success in center store operations.Service Excellence : Promote a service-oriented mindset among all center store team members, exemplifying customer service and servant leadership through friendly and professional interactions.Performance Evaluation : Communicate regularly with managers and store directors regarding strengths and opportunities for improvement within the center store departments.Project Management : Lead and participate in special projects, including remodels, resets, and merchandising updates as assigned by the Retail Account Manager.Merchandising Standards : Ensure all center store departments are properly stocked and merchandised in alignment with company operational expectations.On-Site Support : Travel to assigned stores undergoing remodeling to assist with merchandising according to established plans.Collaboration : Work closely with Retail Account Managers and Supervisors to meet all center store standards and merchandising goals.Job Requirements
Education : High School Diploma required; some college coursework preferred.Experience : 3 to 5 years of experience in retail management, particularly in center store operations, with a strong emphasis on customer service.Leadership Skills : Proven leadership, service-oriented mindset, and strong analytical abilities.Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.Problem-Solving Abilities : Strong organizational skills with the capability to handle multiple projects and tasks while maintaining attention to detail.Technical Skills : Familiarity with retail computer systems and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.Flexibility : Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs.
