What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Office Clerk position at Associated Grocers of New England?
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Maintain and update filing and database systems.
- Print and/or sort all customer documents including invoices, statements and other time sensitive materials accurately to ensure timely delivery.
- Print the receiving schedule and create purchase orders when needed.
- Utilize dock scheduler program along with operational knowledge to schedule receiving appointments to maintain efficient inbound processes.
- Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions.
- Support warehouse operations through ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and accounted for as needed.
- Identify deficiencies with adherence to warehouse employee job methods that affect office procedures. Bring these to the attention of the employees involved where appropriate and report to supervision.
- Interact with warehouse personnel as needed to help with their assigned duties.
- Ensure accurate data entry and processing to support various warehouse processes.
- Operate office machines, such as: photocopiers and scanners, fax machines, voice mail systems, and computers.
- Fulfill batch orders by separating order stickers by order number and placing them in batches for the order selectors.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of MS Office applications to include Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attentive to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment which requires the ability to multi-task as well as prioritize assignments based on operation needs.
- Ability to work early A.M. shifts, nights, weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to develop knowledge of warehouse operations, systems and procedures as needed to meet position accountabilities.
- Ability to use sound reasoning and ascertain all relevant information to support decision making.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time on concrete floor.
- Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, and loud noises.
- No or very limited physical effort required.
- No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
Schedule: Monday to Thursday 9:00 am-5:30 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
