What are the responsibilities and job description for the Junior Buyer position at Associated Grocers of New England?
As a Junior Buyer, you will perform purchasing and procurement functions for an assigned area. The right candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining inventory levels to meet Company requirements for nonperishable merchandise and supplies. This is an entry level position.
Qualifications, preferences and experience
As our Junior Buyer, you will conduct daily reviews and order placements utilizing the E3 buying system to maintain excellent service levels, as well as accomplish inventory turn, profitability and minimum aged inventory goals. Daily reviews of reporting for assigned items/vendors which include buyer out of stocks, inventory adjustments and order expediting will also be a primary function. The Junior Buyer will interact with vendors, customers and departments regarding purchasing procedures and status of orders, and provide excellent Service Level Management. There will be a focus on promotional inventory projections and procurement based upon programs communicated by the Category Manager. This position will communicate with the Category Manager suggested item deletions, and will maintain data information, files, reports, and price lists on assigned commodities. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
This position requires an Associates degree in business and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. The right candidate will also possess strong organizational skills, and computer experience including Microsoft Office applications.
