This position manages all activities related to the maintenance and installation of refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems by performing the duties of a Refrigeration Technician as required and by prioritizing and delegating maintenance assignments to employees on a daily basis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Initiate work orders, requisitions and job orders from inventory stock.
2. Provides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.
3. Establishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
4. Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.
5. Perform administrative duties as applicable- review work orders, expense reports, approve timesheets, review invoicing to ensure accurate billing.
6. Prioritize maintenance jobs and issue job orders to employees for the day.
7. Oversee and inspect the completion of employees’ daily duties.
8. Record maintenance work performed daily.
9. Write purchase orders for parts and supplies.
10. Inspect all refrigeration equipment as a preventive measure.
11. Supervise the examining of all refrigeration, A/C, and heating systems being serviced.
12. Work with contractor on company projects.
13. Ensure that all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
14. Ensure that employees comply with all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines; make on the spot correction of unsafe acts.
15. Be on call at all times. Perform service work as needed and work with techs at locations during difficult troubleshooting.
16. Perform related tasks as required.
17. Establish clear customer service expectations and performance expectations
18. Make firm clear commitments to customers and follow through.
19. Improvement and expanding of services team through proper training in both customer service and technical matters
20. Maintain adequate staffing to ensure a proper balance between providing prompt service and maximizing percent of billable work hours
21. Maintain knowledge of current industry standards, new technologies, and current regulatory policies.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises multiple employees that fall under the Service Department (All Service Technicians and Dispatcher). Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Universal Refrigeration Certificate
Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record
Other Skills and Abilities
1. 1-2 years' of refrigeration experience
2. Working knowledge of refrigeration equipment, tools, and refrigerants
3. Working knowledge of silver solder tools
4. Working knowledge of normal shop equipment and hand tools
5. Working knowledge of all electrical phases and voltage
