What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist II position at Associated Material Handling Industries, Inc?
Performs various administrative duties in support of Human Resources Department, including new hire and payroll processing, employee relations, and other administrative tasks. Assists with the administration and implementation of policies and procedures, government compliance, employee record-keeping and reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Investigate, advise and address performance management and employee relations concerns in conjunction with HR Manager.
- Prepare, maintain, and update employee data within HRIS platform, including personnel file management and records retention.
- Monitor employee evaluation process completion and follow up as needed.
- First point of contact for employees regarding policies, procedures, benefits, etc.; addresses employee questions/concerns, escalating matters to HR Manager as needed.
- Provides timely and accurate responses to employee benefit, policy, and procedure questions.
- Ensures all new hire and termination paperwork is completed and submitted in a timely manner.
- Serves as back up for timesheet / attendance records and reconciliation for non-exempt employees.
- Serves as back up with the E-Verify process for all new hires.
- Responsible follow up for all leaves of absence including short-term disability, military, and workers comp leaves.
- Assists HR Team Members with various reporting, training, and record-keeping and serves as backup for other departmental functions.
- Performs additional departmental and building-related administrative duties as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion in all employee matters.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms (ADP preferred).
- Knowledge of Basic HR principles, laws, and regulations a plus.
- Skilled in communicating within all levels of the organization and work collaboratively with various departments.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner.
- Ability to use sound reason and judgment to resolve employee matters in fair and consistent manner.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Education & Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of HR and/or ER administrative or other relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Incumbent should have exceptional interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft products a must.
Salary range based on experience: 70K – 80K per year
