What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Correspondent position at Associated Material Handling Industries, Inc?
The Parts Correspondent processes external and internal customer orders in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
Hourly wage range for this position: $22 - $25 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Researches, reviews and sources parts for both external and internal customers.
- Maintains extensive phone and email contact with vendors, customers, and technicians to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Processes orders and allocates parts to technician work orders.
- Checks on backordered parts and communicates status accordingly to expedite orders.
- Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of computer such as keyboard, 10-key, Microsoft Office, and ERP system.
- Skilled in customer relations, particularly when communicating via phone.
- Skilled in both written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
- Ability to operate various forklifts and complete required SOTM training for the same.
- Ability to perform research and utilize multiple sources in order to expedite orders to fulfill external and internal customer needs.
- Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work, and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and apply reasoning.
- Ability to read technical manuals and breakdown diagrams.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Incumbent should have a minimum of 1-3 years customer service experience, with an emphasis on the Supply Chain Industry. Some mechanical background and high-volume call center experience preferred.
