What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admitting Coordinator position at Associated Medical Professionals?
The Intrepid Lane Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking surgical scheduling/admitting candidates to complete procedural scheduling and receptionist duties (check-in of patients). Owned and operated by Associated Medical Professionals and Colo-Rectal Associates surgeons, the brand-new free-standing center provides outpatient Urology, Colo-Rectal, and Endoscopy procedural care. We are expanding services and building our team of compassionate health care providers.
The Surgical Scheduler/Receptionist often facilitates the first in-person interaction with the patient. The individual manages requests for procedural time from the physician offices. Utilizing the electronic scheduling system, the individual collaborates with the referring offices to finalize the centers’ operating schedule. Responsibilities include review of case request information for completeness/accuracy, transfer of health benefit information into the practice management system, and completion of benefit authorization activities. This individual completes registration of the patient on the day of the procedure. Duties include travel screening, confirmation of demographics/benefit info, and collection of patient responsibility facility fees. The surgical scheduler/receptionist documents activities in the scheduling and practice management electronic system. Patients are minimally 14 years of age
Candidates with previous procedural scheduling and/or prior authorization of health care benefits preferred. Experience with an electronic medical record system preferred. Position requires strong inter-personal skills, working with patients, fellow team members, and physicians daily.
Center is seeking candidates to start work at 0630 am. Considering part time and full time positions.
The center is open Monday through Friday, closed on Holidays and weekends.
This position does not require call assignments.
