- Medical Assistant Podiatry Coordinator - Qualifications :
- Current WI LPN license or graduate of an accredited medical assisting program
- Ability to interpret payer policies and guidelines
- Intermediate knowledge of medical terminology
- PC / typing and telephone experience
- Excellent customer relations, organization, planning and prioritization skills
- Experience with DME, prior Epic experience; and previous experience in a clinic setting preferred.
- Medical Assistant Podiatry Coordinator - Responsibilities :
- Maintains necessary paperwork for department related to Orthopedics, DME, AFO
- Verifies patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage,
- Supplies information to payers including medical information and / or a letter of medical necessity for determination of benefits
- Ensures prior certification, authorization, and referral requirements are met prior to delivery of services
- Ensures compliance with payer contracts
- Documents necessary information in patient’s medical record
- Serves as back up for rooming patients
