In this position, you will perform x-ray, mammography and EKG procedures on our adult and pediatric patients.
- SCHEDULE :
- As needed, 8 or 10-hour shift between the hours of 7 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Mon-Fri.
- GENERAL SUMMARY :
- The Radiologic Technologist, under the general supervision of the
- Radiology Supervisor
- performs medical imaging procedures according to provider orders and established practices and procedures.
- QUALIFICATIONS :
- Required :
- Current Wisconsin Radiographer license or eligible; current certification with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) as a General Diagnostic Radiographer; completion of an accredited course in radiological technology or associate degree in radiological technology; 3D breast tomosynthesis certification or certification within 6 months of hire; PC / typing and telephone experience; knowledge of clinic policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality; excellent decision-making, organization, planning and prioritization skills; appropriate assessment, examination and treatment skills; ability to accurately and appropriately document patient information; clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, service providers, and general public; and ability to react calmly and competently in emergent situations.
- Preferred :
- One-year experience in radiologic imaging modalities; experience performing EKGs; previous experience in a clinic setting, previous experience with Epic, PACS; and CPR certification.

1. Conducts routine x-ray, mammography and EKG procedures on patients according to provider’s orders and established practices and procedures.
2. Greets patient, verifies identity, obtains history and explains procedure. Provides instructions, properly positions patient to ensure safety, adjusts equipment, and performs imaging procedure.
3. Processes digital images examines radiological images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability.
4. Delivers images to radiologist or provider for reading / interpretation.
5. Reports test results following clinic protocols, alerting providers and nurses to abnormal results. Contacts patients regarding need for additional imaging studies and documents calls appropriately in the electronic health record.
6. Maintains mammography registry. Monitors registry and verifies that lay summaries are sent to each patient within thirty days of examination.
7. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, environmental safety, and infection control standards.
8. Adheres to all medical imaging quality control procedures as per ACR and MQSA standards. Reviews and documents quality control results as appropriate. Identifies and follows appropriate corrective action procedures for out-of-limit results.
9. Follows safety standards and uses radiation protection when operating radiological equipment. Logs radiological procedures completed. Processes related paperwork.
10. Prepares, stocks, and cleans exam rooms; and maintains supplies.
11. Maintains medical imaging and other equipment in efficient operating order and performs preventive maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis. Contacts appropriate service provider for maintenance / repair of radiological equipment when necessary. In conjunction with Radiology Supervisor and Clinical Operations Manager, evaluates and recommends equipment and supply purchases.
12. Adheres to clinic policies and procedures, including OSHA, infection control, environmental safety, and patient confidentiality. Documents uses and disclosures of protected patient health information as required by HIPAA legislation.
13. Attends department meetings as scheduled.
14. Maintains courteous, professional relationships with providers, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, service providers, and general public. Refers concerns to Radiology Supervisor or Clinical Operations Manager as appropriate.
15. Enhances professional growth and development by attending meetings, seminars, conferences, continuing education courses, etc.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
Combination of office and exam settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic environment. Frequent contact with providers, staff, patients, other healthcare facilities, and general public. May require dealing with angry or upset people.
PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS :
Varied activities including standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting. Requires full range of body motion, including lifting and handling of patients. Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions.
