Art Instructor (Loyal Heights /Queen Anne/Bitter Lake Community Center)
If you have experience in art instruction, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as Art Instructor at Loyal Heights /Queen Anne/Bitter Lake Community Centers. These are year-round part-time roles.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. The Art Instructor will lead participants through a variety of artistic mediums including drawing, watercolor, paper, textile and more. Class objectives are to explore new forms of art, learn techniques, find an appreciation for art, and engage in self-expression in a safe and welcoming environment.

Art Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
- Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate art lessons and activities for each art class. Instructors are expected to plan class curriculum.
- Plan, lead, and implement course appropriate activities for each art class, focusing on creative exploration, technique development, and art appreciation.
- Instructors are expected to set up and clean up the space before and after each weekly lesson.
- Generate a supply list for the program.
- Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance logs and incident reports.
Art Instructor requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Experience in working with kids and adults.
- Experienced in art (painting/drawing/mixed media).
Pay:
- Starting Pay: $24.50- $26.50
- Full Pay Range: $24.50-34.50/hr (employee may earn up to $34.50/hr with continued employment)
