Position Overview:
Mt. Baker Rowing and Sailing Center is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as Coach-Rowing and Sailing. This is a fantastic opportunity for individual passionate about working with youth and introducing them to the exciting world of rowing, sailing, and water activities. As a Coach, you will play a key role in providing a fun, safe, and educational experience for our camp participants.
Coach Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise youth camp groups, teaching the fundamentals of water safety and water activities like kayaking, paddle boarding, rowing, and sailing
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development
- Create a positive and supportive environment for campers, encouraging confidence and growth
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during camp activities
- Assist with camp setup, equipment management, and clean-up
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and other staff members
Coach Qualifications:
- Experience working with youth in an educational or recreational setting is preferred
- Knowledge of rowing, sailing, or water sports is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to maintain a positive, energetic, and approachable attitude
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is preferred (can be obtained upon hire)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must be available for the full duration of the camp season

Pay:
- Starting pay: $21.84
- Full Pay Range: $21.84- $24.52/hour (Over time, the employee in this role may earn up to $24.52/hr with additional years of service)
