If you have a knowledge and understanding of fundamentals of fishing and passion and experience of teaching kids, Associated Recreation Council (ARC) has a role for you as a Fishing Instructor at Green Lake Community Center. This is a part-time seasonal role staring 5/10/2025.
ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, serves Seattle by offering access to licensed childcare and a variety of recreational and lifelong learning programs, classes, and activities. The Fishing Instructor at Green Lake Community Center will lead a group of youth to learn about fishing and equipment, different techniques, learn how to cast, tie fishing knots, bait the line and handling a live fish. Must have a love of fishing and teaching, and sharing that passion with children.

Schedule:
- Saturdays 9:30am-1:30pm
Fishing Instructor duties and responsibilities include:
- Implement age appropriate fundamentals of fishing, tieing knots, casting, baiting/rigging and handling live fish
- Provide a safe and welcoming environment for the children
- Maintain positive relationships with families, staff, and the general public
- Complete required administrative reports, such as attendance and activity logs, accident/incident reports, hot sheets, and evaluations
- Ensure that equipment and supplies are cleaned and stored properly
Fishing Instructor requirements include:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Some experience planning and supervising recreational programs and/or educational activities for children
Pay:

Starting Pay: $26.50 - 28.50/hr.

Full Pay Range: $26.50-36.50/hr (employee may earn up to $36.50/hr with continued employment)
