ARC, in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is recruiting for a Piano Instructor for the Bitter Lake Community Center. Do you have a passion for Piano? The Piano Instructor is responsible for teaching weekly 30-minute private lessons to beginner, intermediate level to students from age 5 through adult. Instruction includes sight-reading, technique, expression, theory, and chords. Advance level teaching would be a bonus.
Location: Bitter Lake Community Center
Pay Range: $30.00-31.50 hourly DOE for part-time, non-exempt position
Schedule: Tuesday and/or Wednesday; see schedule below
- Tuesdays 4/5- 6/28/22 from 3:30pm - 6:30pm
- Wednesdays 4/6- 6/29/22 from 2:30pm - 5:30pm
- Winter 2022: Flexible schedule for any Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday from 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Start date: Tuesday, April 6, 2022 – June 29, 2022 and then for the remainder of the year
End date: On going
Requirements:
- Over 21 years of age
- Willing to work 1-2 days a week and teach 30-minute lessons 3-4 hours per day
- Must have experience teaching beginner and intermediate level piano lessons to various age groups
- Previous experience creating curriculum and developing piano lesson plans is preferred.
- If hired, must have First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to attain
- If hired, must pass criminal background check, provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid photo ID
- If hired, must sign up for direct deposit with either checking or savings account
- Must be vaccinated and boosted for Covid-19
This is a part-time position. Benefits include 401(k), Pre-tax Employee/Employer Contribution Transit Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST).
