Youth Services Coordinator
Location: Lower Queen Anne, Seattle, WA
Employment Type: Part-time, Non-Exempt
Are you passionate about youth leadership and community engagement? Do you have the skills to mentor and support young leaders while creating structured opportunities for growth? Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR), is seeking a Youth Services Coordinator. Part of ARC’s mission is to establish groups of community member volunteers called ‘advisory councils’ across Seattle. These advisory councils partner with ARC to plan events, raise funds, assist with budgeting, and help develop recreation programs.
As the Youth Services Coordinator, you will be responsible for guiding and empowering ARC’s Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members to enhance their abilities as community leaders. This advisory council is made up of teenagers (13-17 years old.) This position reports to the Director of Early Learning and Community Partnerships.
This position is part-time. Expected to work 10-20 hours per week. Hours are expected to increase to 20 hours per week during the summer.
About the Role
As the Youth Services Coordinator, you will:
- Provide training and development for Youth Advisory Council (YAC) members.
- Develop and implement an annual plan, including recruitment, selection, and onboarding of new members.
- Plan and manage the remainder of the 2025 YAC schedule.
- Design and execute the recruitment and interview process for next year’s YAC members.
- Lead or support initiatives to increase opportunities for youth participation & leadership ay ARC

- Focus on Racial Equity and Social Justice (RESJ) and social issues.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to initiate conversations and engage young leaders.
- Ability to ask thoughtful questions and facilitate meaningful discussions.
- Commitment to providing structure and mentorship for youth leadership.
- Experience working with youth in a professional or mentorship capacity.
- Subject matter expertise in key areas to mentor and guide YAC members.
- Strong writing skills, including email and professional communication.
Full Pay Range:
- $23.00-26.50/hr
