Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter – Millwright – Welder to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of carpentry, millwright, and welding tasks to support general plant maintenance and repair. The ideal candidate will have experience in woodworking, machinery installation, welding, and equipment maintenance.
➕ Additional COLA Pay: $3.55 per hour
➕ Welding Class Bonus: Earn an additional $0.50 per hour for each completed welding class (up to $1.00 extra per hour).
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry and millwright operations for plant maintenance and repair.
- Work from drawings, sketches, and layouts to construct, alter, or repair plant structures such as stairs, roofs, floors, partitions, concrete forms, bins, and shelves.
- Use hand tools, portable power tools, and woodworking machinery.
- Plan and lay out work efficiently to minimize material waste and production interference.
- Move, place, and align plant machines and equipment, including machine tools, coiling machines, plating, and heat-treating equipment.
- Determine the best route for moving heavy machinery using bars, rollers, and hoists.
- Set and align machines on prepared foundations and secure them properly.
- Install accessories such as tanks, pumps, guards, and other components.
- Repair and maintain plant and industrial equipment, including tumblers, pulleys, wheelabrators, heat-treating, and plating equipment.
- Perform sheet metal work, tack welding, burning, and some painting as needed.
- Detect and report any unusual conditions to the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Experience in carpentry, millwright work, and welding in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using woodworking tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Knowledge of proper rigging techniques for moving heavy machinery.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED
- Associate degree or technical school
- Graduate of a state-recognized apprenticeship in Millwright
Compensation:
- We also offer a tool allowance, yearly raises, and performance-based raises.
