Job Title : Mail Route Specialist & General MaintenanceLocation : Columbus, NE

Hours : Full-time, 12-month position

Salary : $18.34 - $19.34 per hour

Key Responsibilities :

  • Daily Deliveries : Transport mail, custodial supplies and other materials to schools and offices according to the schedule.
  • Inventory Management : Ensure adequate stock of paper supplies and keep detailed records of orders.
  • Support Services : Assist in loading and unloading freight as well as operating a postage meter for regular and express mail services.
  • Requisitions & Paper Purchases : Handle paper request deliveries and assist with yearly paper purchasing through ESU Coop.
  • Other Tasks : Handle additional duties assigned by the Director of Buildings & Grounds including making bank deposits as needed.

Physical Requirements :

  • Occasional : Lifting up to 100 pounds, carrying up to 20 feet, manual dexterity tasks (forklift, ladder, etc.)
  • Frequent : Sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, climbing and driving.
  • Constant : Standing, walking.

    • Essential Skills & Qualifications :

  • Education : High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Licensure : Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience : Prior experience in logistics, delivery or maintenance is a plus.
  • Other : Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others. Ability to make decisions regarding ordering and routing materials.

    • Working Conditions :

  • Location : Both inside and outside environments.
  • Climate Exposure : Heat extremes during spring and summer months, occasional weather exposure on loading dock.
  • Hazards : Exposure to chemicals, dust accumulation, and moving vehicles on the loading dock.
