What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peak Adventures, SAVA Internship position at Associated Students Inc.?
Position Description: (List duties, responsibilities, etc.)
Safely perform job duties.
Assist with equipment maintenance.
Assist with inventory.
Assist with researching new trip locations.
Support preparation for upcoming outdoor trips, including assessing equipment and confirming location information.
Assist with outdoor trip marketing efforts, including promotional booths and print material distribution.
Interns will gain hands-on experience while earning credit towards completing their CTE pathway.
At the end of 7 weeks, the internship with the SAVA and ASI Peak Adventures will be terminated following California Labor Law practices. A final evaluation meeting will occur with the intern and their supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements (i.e., education, technical skills):
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public.
Ability for follow oral and written instructions.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to be flexible and adaptive.
Ability to work well with other staff.
Ability to learn basic outdoor equipment and operations.
Must be able to climb, kneel, squat, reach overhead.
Often lift 30-50 pounds assisted.
Must be 18 years old or older.
Must be a junior or senior enrolled at SAVA and successfully completed a 200-level course in any CTE pathway.
Must be recommended by a SAVA teacher on the basis of demonstrated knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors.
Must be in good academic standing and maintain expected progress towards graduation.
