Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.
Associated Students is now hiring for the position of CAVE Student Events and Recruitment Director. This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no less than 8 hours per week, and no more than 20 hours per week, while school is in session. The pay rate is $17.34 per hour. The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time. To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of CAVE Director and Program Coordinator, the Student Events and Recruitment Director is responsible for planning and implementing marketing and outreach for CAVE, planning and coordinating special events, and supervising student staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Recruit, interview, and select Events and Recruitment manager and coordinators
- Manage and train Events and Recruitment manager and coordinators
- Facilitate weekly Events and Recruitment meetings
- Collaborate with AS marketing to design social media posts, campus announcements, blogs, and event outreach
- Plan a social media calendar for the semester
- Plan and facilitate volunteer recruitment tabling
- Facilitate conflict resolution amongst Events and Recruitment manager and coordinators
- Provide constructive feedback and recognize Events and Recruitment manager and coordinators accomplishments through mid-semester and final evaluations
- Collaborate with program managers to communicate with community partners about special events
- Plan and implement staff and volunteer appreciation
- Develop and update Events and Recruitment manual
- Contribute to a positive work environment and volunteer experience
- Maintain 10-20 office hours a week
- Facilitate monthly CAVE staff meetings
- Facilitate CAVE staff trainings
- Organize and facilitate approved volunteer recruitment activities
- Organize and facilitate approved staff recruitment activities
- Coordinate and lead CAVE Service Project
- Plan and publicize CAVE Fundraiser
- Plan and coordinate 3 Weekend Wildcats per semester
POSITIONS DIRECTLY SUPERVISED
Weekend Wildcat Coordinator and indirectly supervises PR Interns
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in The Wildcat Leadership Center at Bell Memorial Union; continuous contact with staff, campus community and public; possible contact with animals. Must be flexible, adaptable, and readily able to adjust to changes in work environment.

- Must be a Chico State Student enrolled in at least 6-units
- Interpret and implement current AS and Chico State policies and procedures
