Associated Students (AS) is a comprehensive campus auxiliary corporation of CSU, Chico serving thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members through myriad student programs, services and business enterprises. AS operates residential and retail dining services, the Bell Memorial Union (BMU), and the Wildcat Recreation Center (WREC). Additionally, the AS offers a wide variety of services and programs such as: CAVE (Community Action Volunteers in Education), the Child Development Lab, Adventure Outings, Operation Programs and Services (OPS), Sustainability and student government.
Associated Students is now hiring for the position of WREC Student Front Desk Staff. This is a part-time, non-benefited student position that will work no more than 20 hours per week while school is in session. The pay rate is $16.50 per hour. The schedule for this position is based upon department needs and is subject to change at any time. To be eligible for student employment, you must be enrolled at CSU, Chico and maintain at least 6 units (undergraduate student) or 4 units (graduate student) throughout the course of employment.

SUMMARY
Assist with the daily operations of the WREC front desk
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Open and close the WREC front desk according to standard operating procedures
- Monitor electronic access system to prevent illegal entry
- Troubleshoot problems with access system, scanners, and specialized software programs
- First responder to duress alarms and medical emergencies; administer first aid
- Submit injury, incident, and maintenance reports
- Handle guests’ varied questions, requests, and concerns
- Sell memberships, lockers, merchandise, personal training packages/classes, intramurals, and special programs
- Conduct informative tours and register new members
- Distribute and launder towels
- Perform all duties without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned area for extended periods of time.
- Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work area.
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment
- Assist in other areas of the WREC and complete specific duties as requested or assigned
- Maintain current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications
- Other duties may be assigned
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in the Wildcat Recreation Center, various campus locations and outside environments; continuous contact with staff, campus community and public; possible contact with animals.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand for extended periods; manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer, iPad, telephones, copier. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- First Aid Certification within 30 days of hire
- Adult CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire

- Ability to work evening, weekends, and holiday/school breaks
- Experience in customer service industry
