POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of the daily maintenance activities. This individual will supervise all aspects of preventive maintenance. The supervisor will ensure the continual functioning of all mechanical equipment, therein reducing downtime through preventive maintenance practices. In addition, this position will also supervise shift mechanics, electricians, welders, and greasers. Daily communication with the Maintenance Manager, Shift Supervisors, Terminal Manager, and other terminal personnel required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Establishes and maintains effective communication, information flow, and teamwork among the PM crew and maintenance manager, providing status updates on all areas of responsibility
- Makes periodic walk through inspections throughout the work area.
- Assign duties to maintenance personnel and ensure that each job is completed safely, properly, and productively.
- Responsible for making sure permits are filled out accurately, timely, and properly.
- Ensures that all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems meet regulatory and company requirements through observation, records, and inspections.
- Performs troubleshooting and repairs of equipment directly and through subordinates
- Creates and maintains a system of organization for all parts and tools;
- Forecasts equipment repair and replacement schedules.
- Overhaul and refurbish all rig equipment, engines, and generators as required.
- Determine any parts, tools, and supplies that may need to be ordered. Submit the list to the Maintenance Supervisor for approval prior to ordering.
- Provides technical assistance to all maintenance personnel when needed - 24/7
- Plan and schedule maintenance around production schedule.
- Ensure that all maintenance records are accurately completed for work performed and turned into the maintenance manager in a timely manner.
- Oversee all employee and contractor maintenance staff.
- Conduct daily safety meetings.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment with some supervisory experience (preferred).
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma required
- College or Technical degree (preferred)
- Electrical License in State of Louisiana (preferred)
SKILL/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics (electrical and mechanical)
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills. It may include but not limited to: motor starters and controls, lighting, AC and DC drives, generators, switchgear, etc.
- Knowledge of PLCs; Allen Bradley PLC 5 preferred
- Experience with a computer based preventive maintenance program; Sinex preferred
- Ability to create and/or update electrical drawings using a program such as Auto Cad or Visio
- Must have mechanical knowledge of cutting, welding, fabrications, pneumatics, hydraulics, alignments, conveyors, mobile equipment, diesel engines etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. Incumbent will work at different elevations/heights. Noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will be dusty and dirty. A short crew boat ride will be required for access to the job site. Primary working hours are Monday through Friday 0600-1600 but may vary. Other hours including nights and weekends may be required as needed. Call outs and working from home may be required to assist maintenance personnel during breakdowns.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical nature of the job will vary from day to day. However, the job will require the incumbent to perform the following: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. The individual will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: Hard hat, eyewear, safety vests (PFD), gloves, dust masks, steel toe boots, and arc flash gear.
