Our company is seeking a dedicated Warehouseman for our Arabi, LA location. This role is integral to our operations, coordinating the receipt and distribution of materials in a warehouse environment. The successful candidate will work closely with location managers and the Maintenance Manager to ensure efficient logistical support, including improvements in inventory accountability and tracking the flow of materials through the facility.
Responsibilities
- Document the receipt and distribution of all materials, including conducting inventory of delivered materials and verifying documentation.
- Assist in maintaining accountability for inventory of materials housed at the location.
- Maintain stored inventory in an organized and orderly manner.
- Ensure that documentation is maintained, including entries into the purchasing system.
- Safely operate a forklift and a utility task vehicle.
- Report all incidents through the company’s reporting protocol.
- Support company safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of similar experience in warehousing.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Basic math skills.
- Thorough knowledge of reporting procedures.
- Physical fitness to perform all essential physical demands of this job safely.
- Basic knowledge or the ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proven people and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Must have the ability to rig loads for lifting and secure to the transport vehicle/trailer.
- Must comply with all operational directives and company policies.
- Must pass pre-employment drug tests as well as random drug screening.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must receive certification to operate a forklift and a utility task vehicle.
- TWIC (Required).
Work Environment
The incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold as well as occasional rain. The job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools. The physical nature of the work will vary from day to day based on operational needs; however, the job will require the incumbent to be able to perform: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Incumbent will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat, eyewear, safety vests, gloves, masks/ respirators (when necessary) and steel-toe boots.
