What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Associated Wholesale Grocers?
SUMMARY
Performs general office duties such as filing, data entry, sorting, organizing mailings and other clerical responsibilities. This is a busy fast paced warehouse environment with powered industrial equipment coming and going at all times.
SCHEDULE : Sunday – Thursday, : PM to Finish
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Must have a high school diploma / degree or equivalent; or three to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
