Warehouse Outbound Manager
Location : Old Military Road Pearl River, LA
Summary :
Directs and coordinates the operation of the shipping shift, all departments, perishable & grocery, and coordinates activities with inbound items to insure the productive and cost-efficient utilization of all resources to ensure the delivers to member stores are accurate and timely.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
The individual must have the ability to perform the responsibilities listed below. The list is not all inclusive of duties that may be requested by the department head or a member of upper management but are intended for an understanding of the purpose of the position. It is the responsibility of everyone at AWG to provide ultimate customer service to our members and to support their efforts in increasing same store sales & profits.
- Responsible for the productive, timely, and quality shipment of all products to member stores.
- Increase production and effectively utilize the work force to maximize efficiency and reduce warehouse operating expenses.
- Direct the placement of the work force responding to the changing needs during the shift.
- Hire, train, develop, recognize, and evaluate the performance of all employees on the shift.
- Train and develop supervisors in all aspects of warehousing.
- Provide an atmosphere of open and honest communications and a positive working environment.
- Enforcement and education of company safety, sanitation, security and standards of operation.
- Monitor disciplinary steps taken by warehouse supervision to ensure proper steps are followed.
- Oversee the resolution of employee complaints or grievances to facilities a proper resolution.
- Communicate to the Warehouse Manager problem areas, improvements, etc. Regarding the warehouse center’s operation.
- Responsible for seeing that state, federal, and AWG safety, sanitation, and governmental polices, laws and regulations are maintained and adhered to.

Education and / or Experience : One to two years related experience and / or training managing a grocery warehouse shift; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and Maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
