What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dermatology Nurse Manager position at Associates in Dermatology?
The Dermatology Nurse Manager will provide oversight for all clinical functions including derm staff. The Manager will work closely with providers, nurses and other medical staff to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the clinic. The Manager will provide clinical administrative support to drive patient care and achieve our goal to be the best dermatology practice.
Essential Functions Summary:
- Provide leadership and direction to the derm clinic staff for the day-to-day operations of the clinics, problems related to staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Works with management to maintain a positive work environment supporting patients, providers and staff.
- Assist in the recruitment of clinical personnel needed to staff the facility to assure safe, efficient, and effective patient care.
- Directs the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence based clinical and management practice.
- Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Promotes, and is accountable for customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans and outcomes.
- Supports and assists the growth of existing or new practices.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for employees.
- Consults with Managers and leads on determining progressive discipline-based performance.
- Monitors timecard allocations (paid time off, location and overtime)
- Mentor and contribute to training of clinical staff.
- Review patient satisfaction surveys and follow us as needed.
- Attending all required education meetings, both in house and external.
- Escalates operational concerns to Director along with proposed solutions.
- Assist opening new office locations including boarding and training AID best practices and systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN program; OR current Medical Assistant Certification or LPN/RN License.
- Five (5) or more years of management experience in a healthcare setting or 3 years administrative healthcare experience preferred.
- Dermatology experience preferred.
- Must possess strong English oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with other medical staff and management. Must possess manual dexterity sufficient to utilize reference materials and to type on keyboards.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
