Sr Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)
Experience designing systems for commercial, educational, healthcare, and multifamily buildings. Should be seasoned and capable as an engineering project manager, capable of designing and engineering a project from initial concept through completed construction.
• Develop and evaluate system concepts and options to determine best design and engineering
solution for each project based upon project scope
• Develop design drawings and specifications for building mechanical systems
• Perform systems analysis and prepare reports and studies as well as cost estimates
• Lead and coordinate with architects, engineers, designers, and administration staff
• Interface with clients to discuss changes to designs and/or specifications
• Work with leadership to manage design manpower budget and update budget to reflect
revisions or changes in scope
• Assisting in the training and mentoring junior firm
members
Education And Experience
• Education: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Experience: 10 years of job-related experience
• Licensure/Certification: Professional Engineering License in NJ & PA (at least one is required,
with ability to obtain the other). LEED accreditation is desirable, but not a requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
• Project management experience is required (including interfacing with client, coworkers, and
code officials)
• Proven track record of success in managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Hands-on experience with engineering, design, building, and mechanical code requirements,
with emphasis on multifamily facilities including affordable housing, student housing, and
market-rate housing
• Energy efficient design knowledge is a plus
• Demonstrated proficiency in ArchiCAD or AutoCAD environment
