Piping Designer
Responsibilities
- Develop models of equipment and structure to produce 3D plant designs
- Generate orthographic and isometrics drawings, MTOs, arrangement details, and location plans
- Support engineers on projects for operating facilities and develop layouts and drawings for equipment, including plan, sections, and elevations
- Support proposal work by developing conceptual plant layouts and generating orthographic views
- Check vendor drawings. Make necessary corrections and coordinate submittals as instructed
- Follow established CAD standards and guidelines for the industrial gases industry
- Reports to Design Department Manager
- Work with other departments and work groups as needed
- Participate in departmental training programs/seminars and on-line training
- Two-year degree in engineering / drafting technology from a recognized technical institute a plus Mechanical or electrical engineering degree or relevant course work a plus.
- Proficiency in 3D (CADWORX a plus), and AutoCAD
- Experience with cryogenic piping and working in the Industrial Gases Industry is a plus
- Understanding of pipe stress and pipe supports a plus
- Basic computer literacy - Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to function in a team environment across multiple disciplines.
