System Admin/Sr. Developer will:

Assuming technical lead programming tasks and activities, including but not limited to technical assessments, requirements gathering, analysis/design, programming/construction, testing, and transition of applications into a XPP publishing environment.

Working closely with management and the software engineering team on system architectural strategy, lead programming tasks, software releases, ensuring the rollout efforts for XPP effectively meet the corporate objectives.

Implement upgrade activities to ensure the Publishing System operates smoothly.
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of XML
- Mentorship experience
- Experience with all aspects of XPP 8x, Math ML, and the XPP web services toolkit a plus.
- Experience with Font Installations, Font Management, Kerning Pairs, and system maintenance as it relates to an XPP environment.
- Exposure to various architectural platforms, recognition of reuse, and identification of patterns a must.
- Ability to trouble-shoot problems and perform root cause analysis a must.
- Familiarity with knowledge management tools a must.
- Experience in different composition/publishing methodologies a must.
- Experience with data conversion tools such as XSLT, OmniMark, JAVA, Python, or PERL.
- Ability to create custom publishing applications using the following technologies: Javascript, VB Script, MS Office, CSS.
Experience/Education:
- 5-10 years experience with XPP in creating progressively more complex and diverse deliverables.
- 3 years experience in XML/XPP production environment, using XMetaL, Arbortext Epic, or equivalent.
