Job Type: Full-Time in Elgin
Shift: 2nd Shift
Schedule: Wednesday-Friday.- 9:00pm-9:00am & every other weekend Saturday 9:00pm-9:00am.
What you will be doing?
Responsible for the implementation of the client’s. Individual Plan, goals and objectives under the direction of a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP). The DSP demonstrates this through daily documentation of service provided to each client to whom they are responsible. The DSP will assure client rights, dignity, and privacy, while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Be familiar with and maintain all applicable program and agency regulations. The DSP will function as a member of the Interdisciplinary team.

Education: High School education/ GED.
Experience: Experience working with developmentally disabled adults

Physical:

Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds to assist in a two person lift or with use of adaptive equipment.

Climb stairs

No medical restrictions which would prohibit implementation of a lift/transfer or implementation of behavioral programs.

Push, pull, reach, stoop/bend over and use step stool.

Perform daily housekeeping tasks and assist clients in independent living skills.

Physically assist clients in situations including, but not limited to: getting in and out of van, bathtub, shower, or bed.

Operate home appliances, including, but not limited to stove, microwave, washing machine, dryer, and vacuum.

Implement behavior protocols and respond to emergency behavioral issues.

Additional Requirements:

Pass literacy test.

Must complete, pass and maintain required DSP and Medication Administration Training, CPR, First Aid, Hepatitis B, Universal Precautions, and CPI.

Attend in-service training as required

Minimum age required 18 years of age.

Evening, weekend, overnight, and holiday hours required.

Individual must have and maintain a valid Illinois driver’s license.

The use of a personal automobile and the minimum amount of automobile liability insurance as defined in the Association’s personnel policy is required.

Attendance: Working scheduled hours at various locations as determined by client and program needs is required.
