The Vice President of Operations will manage our programs and services, overseeing the strategy for implementation and execution of highest standard of clinical and psych rehab operations. The VP of Operations ensures compliance with all regulatory guidelines and provides expert guidance, advocacy and direction to executive and senior leadership.
This is a high level management position that requires extensive clinical experience, a belief in and commitment to Person Centered Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Recovery initiatives, which is incorporated into clinical service delivery. The position will require an affinity for strategic thinking and problem solving in the course of day-to-day clinical operations.
Responsibilities typical of the position include oversight of census and revenue growth, quality of services, management of clinical and program personnel, and regulatory compliance. The VP of Operations works in collaboration with the CEO, CFO, Programmatic Supervisors and Directors, along with clinicians, Psychiatrist/Nurse Practitioners, and fiscal/billing staff to ensure that all resources in the clinic are being used to best serve clients’ needs.
General Responsibilities:
- Regularly review practice data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for growth, utilizing data to inform decision-making and operational strategies
- Collaborate with and take directives from executive leadership regarding practice optimization and implement solutions at the practice level
- Collaborate with department leads and agency committees to facilitate communication and support initiatives
- Oversee on-site program leadership in each site, ensuring respective locations are being effectively and consistently managed, through a psych-rehab and trauma informed lens
- Assist with development and management of budgets, ensuring financial targets are met
- Collaborate with leadership team on oversight of scheduling, billing, and administrative functions to optimize program performance and quality of services
- Monitor revenue cycles, manage expenses, and implement cost-saving initiatives
- Prepare and present data-driven reports
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and patient satisfaction and enhance productivity
- Ensure a patient-centered, psych-rehab and trauma informed approach is maintained across all practice sites, overseeing as client concerns and feedback are addressed and implementing improvements as needed
- Oversee central access department, providing review/oversight of admissions and discharges
- Develop and oversee quality assurance programs
- Ensure all programs comply with relevant compliance regulation, ensuring regular audits and risk assessments are conducted, addressing any issues promptly
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic plans to enhance program growth and service delivery
- Understanding and Commitment to Corporate Compliance; as identified in organizational and programmatic protocols, regulatory statutes (local, state, federal) and educational requirements
- Collaborate with human resources and office managers on staff management, providing recruiting and training development and delivery
- Must hold and maintain a current license in the Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA) LMSW/LCSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, LPA; and at least 5 year’s post-Master’s and licensed experience
- Minimum three (3) years clinical and program leadership experience in an OMH licensed setting
- Working knowledge of state and federal OMH and OASAS regulations
- Strong decision-making and analytical skills
- Excellent communication, oral, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent inter-personal communication, including the ability to model, train, and supervise practitioners in establishing empathic, empowering relationships with people who have experienced psychiatric and substance abuse disabilities and trauma; Strong communication skills with health professionals
- Working knowledge of computer technology and systems to include electronic medical record software systems
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management
- Experience with providing clinical and managerial supervision for all clinical program staff who deliver direct services and administrative support
- Experience with clinical service delivery to individuals with Co-Occurring (MH/SU) challenges
- Experience with Treatment/Service planning and record-keeping in a psychiatric rehabilitation, person centered practice and recovery-directed framework; sound knowledge of the Behavioral Health services system (OMH, OASAS)
- Proficient in the use of current technology: desktop applications, smart phone apps, MS Office 365, Zoom, etc.
- Bi-lingual Spanish a plus; stipend available for verified language capability
