Summary: Provides custodial and guest services for all facilities, to include both indoor and outdoor facilities of the community centers. This position will alternate between working indoors in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled work area, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting. Effectively and efficiently work through interruptions and changes in priority matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Custodial tasks include but are not limited to: Cleaning floors (vinyl, carpet, and wood), windows, lavatories, shower/locker facilities and windows; emptying trash receptacles, dusting furniture and arranging for occasional contract cleaning services, i.e. draperies.
· Outdoor tasks may include pressure cleaning of tennis courts, vacuuming of bocce courts, emptying trash receptacles, cleaning water fountains, and cleaning outdoor furniture.
· Serve the guest and residents in the capacity of basic instructions for activities and use of facilities.
· Provide information to guests and residents as to events and activities.
· Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
· Must be capable of driving a car and possess a valid driver's license.
· Position involves sifting, standing and/or movement Position requires ability to exert minimal force of up to 50 pounds and minimal force to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects frequently.
· Physical activities include balancing, climbing, crouching, crawling, fingering, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, and writing.
· Ability to exchange and receive information through written and oral communications and to make discriminations in sound. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and skills.
· Physical ability to sustain movements especially of the fingers, wrists, hands, or arms. Must be physically and intellectually capable of operating computer, printer, telephone, and various other types of business equipment
· May work extended hours and on weekends when required.
Education: Some high school or its equivalency
Experience: One to three years general working experience. Custodial experience preferred.
Positive Traits and Skill Set: Must be self-motivated, flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and be able to prioritize. Able to function effectively under stress and interruptions. Ability to delegate work efficiently. Ability to work well and supervise effectively in office environment with various personalities.
