We are a family of professionals working together to increase awareness around the need for organ and tissue donors alongside nurturing and guiding our families throughout the gift of life. We facilitate the recovery of organs, tissues, and corneas in Iowa. We honor donors and support donor families at the time of donation and on a continuing basis.

Responsible for the overall leadership of our Iowa based organization, with locations in North Liberty and Altoona, including the growth and direction of all service and business functions. This includes all organ and tissue donation service delivery, donor and donor family interactions, referral outreach and promotion, fund raising, strategic communications and all business administration activities of a private, non-profit organization. The incumbent provides ongoing leadership and guidance to the officers of these areas while instilling a sense of efficient, cost-effective delivery of mission-based services. Additionally, the incumbent aligns daily activities with the strategic and operational goals of the organization consistent with industry standards and best practices.

Job Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare or other relatable discipline and ten years of OPO leadership experience is required.
  • Proven ability to lead a team and achieve measurable results while exhibiting excellent strategic management, decision making, interpersonal communication, team building and leadership skills.

Compensation :

Starting salary range $277,700 – 347,100 plus performance-based bonus

  • Iowa Donor Network determines final compensation based on education, experience, and skills relevant to the position. Relocation allowance available.
  • Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities :

  • Select, train, and guide the performance of designated officer staff to retain a motivated professional workforce for IDN.
  • Establish and communicate job responsibilities, manage performance expectations and outcomes to maintain optimal operational performance utilizing established leadership principles.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, CMS, OPTN, OSHA, IA DHHS, federal and state employment and other regulations, and IDN policies through annual reviews, internal audits, and staying current on industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage the overall operational, budgetary, investment and financial responsibilities of the organization.
  • Manage board relationships and activities to facilitate organizational governance and fiduciary responsibility.
  • Ensure formulation and execution of organizational strategic plans and indicated performance improvement strategies.
  • Ensure positive relationships between IDN and key stakeholders, supporters, and financial contributors.
  • Manage organizational legislative and legal affairs. Represent organizational values at local, state, and national levels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to respond to changing conditions and new opportunities for the organization.
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, and developmental skills.
  • Ability to manage an organizational budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize, and delegate responsibilities to team members.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g., Influenza obtained annually by December 1st.)

  • Employee’s obligation to maintain the confidentiality of information shall survive the termination of employee’s employment with IDN.
