Location : Birmingham, AL
Provides day to day leadership and oversight of organ and tissue operations guided by the organizational mission and core values of Legacy of Hope. Mentors directors / managers within organ and tissue operations while nurturing interdisciplinary collaboration across the organization.
Closely monitors key performance indicators related to referral, screening, authorization, allocation, donor management, and recovery, utilizing data for operational decision-making. Evaluates for operational opportunities and then guides the development and implementation of improvement actions to achieve optimal operational performance across the organ and tissue work systems.
Works in collaboration with the Executive Director to develop and implement the strategic vision for Legacy of Hope. Collaborates with other members of the leadership team to oversee execution of all operational aspects of the strategic and assigned departmental work plans so donation mission impact is maximized across Legacy of Hope’s donation service area (DSA).
Position Requirements :
Required : Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, Health Care Management or related field required. Ten (10) years of experience in transplantation / donation with three (3) of those years being in a leadership role.
Preferred : Advanced degree in business or healthcare administration strongly preferred.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND / OR REGISTRATION :
Required : Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) or Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC).
