Position Summary

ASGE is seeking a dynamic and skilled Manager of Audio Visual and Video Production Services. This role involves working closely with staff, faculties, and outside clients to ensure the seamless preparation and execution of audio / visual needs for meetings, education courses, and rentals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AV technologies as well as basic experience in video production and editing. Team collaboration, adaptability, and customer service are essential as is the ability to multitask and perform under pressure. Essential Job Functions

The essential job functions listed below represent the primary duties and responsibilities of this job. Other duties and responsibilities within the scope of this job may be assigned to the employee. These essential job functions may change from time to time based on the strategic and operational needs of the organization.

  • Lead and manage the set-up and operation of audio / visual equipment and coordinate with ASGE staff and clients to manage A / V needs onsite for events, including courses, meetings and rentals in an auditorium, various conference rooms, and a medical lab.
  • Coordinate AV setup and operation for events which can require being on-site during evenings and weekends.
  • Collaboration with Operations Staff, Conference Services, Lab Managers, and Education Team in managing AV activities such as setup, production, and postproduction to ensure a smooth client experience.
  • Provide attentive, accommodating, professional, technical, and out-of-the-box support to our clients, which includes renowned physicians and medical experts, in a time sensitive, confidential, and fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills, positive professional presence, approachable personality, have a good sense of humor and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain integrated audio / visual control systems.
  • Manage live recording, webcasting, video conferencing, and streaming services.
  • Identify, research and propose practical solutions for meeting new A / V needs as identified during client events.
  • Advanced proficiency in using, troubleshooting, and revising presentations that include audio, video, graphics, special effects.
  • Respond quickly and professionally to changing environments and fast-moving situations while maintaining composure and efficiency.
  • Comfort operating and recording in a medical lab environment.
  • Some travel required to coordinate offsite AV and videotaping of ASGE events and training (average of twice per year).

Core Qualifications

The core qualifications listed below represent the minimum education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the essential job functions listed above with or without reasonable accommodations.

Education / Experience / Knowledge :

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related / applicable field of study preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience with A / V systems support and client engagement preferably in a meeting services environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of AV equipment and technologies (e.g. via reels and references).
  • Demonstrable knowledge and expertise with Microsoft PowerPoint, including the ability to troubleshoot presentation issues, reformat presentations, and quickly revise slide decks as necessary.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 especially Word, Excel, Teams, and One Drive.
  • Experience with the operation and use of portable and fixed LCD projectors including troubleshooting and basic maintenance.
  • Experience with the operation of AV equipment including Crestron management systems, Roland and Black Magic switchers, PTZ cameras, audio boards, computers and software / hardware.
  • Experience with the operation and use of digital video recording systems, and systems associated with storing, managing, and deploying recordings.
  • Experience with Zoom, Teams, and other video and audio-conferencing operations.
  • Experience in the use of wired and wireless microphones in auditorium environments as well as with video production.
  • Experience with the use of Audience Response systems.
  • Experience with and knowledge of AV equipment troubleshooting and basic repairs.
  • Experience with TCP / IP Networking.
  • Experience with the use and operation of Microsoft Windows and Mac computers. Experience with supporting iOS and Android mobile devices.
  • Experience with developing preventive and corrective maintenance plans, policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in video production and postproduction including camera, lighting, audio, and Adobe edit and graphics software.
  • Skills :

  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills with all levels of staff and clients, including the ability to describe complex technical processes to non-technical people.
  • High-level of multi-tasking skills required.
  • Abilities to :

  • Maintain positive customer relationships and ensure timely response to all inquiries regarding Audio Visual needs.
  • Be tolerant and flexible with last minute changes, and creative and efficient with ideas and solutions.
  • Deliver results in a deadline driven environment.
  • Work closely with volunteers and external clients at all levels, from presentation management to broadcasting.
  • Work a schedule to accommodate events, including evenings, weekends, holidays, irregular hours and on-call status.
  • Develop practical and innovative solutions for new needs as they arise.
  • Work both independently and as part of a highly integrated team.
  • Be prompt, consistent, dependable and always prepared.
  • Be creative, collegial and thrive in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment.
