We’re currently hiring a Vice President of Finance to join our Finance team, which will serve as the senior leader of the Finance and Accounting function and will drive sound financial and accounting practices to support the organization.Who You Are : You care deeply about the intersections between hunger, poverty, racial inequity, and social injustice. You are adept at unifying and motivating teams to action in a fast-paced environment. You have expertise in the management of full-cycle month-end and year-end close management, external and internal audits, financial statements reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, accrual basis accounting, cash management and cash flow, banking and investments, inventory accounting, account reconciliations, efficiency improvements, process automation, accounting systems setup, procedures documentation, consolidation reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, financial risk / fraud mitigations, and accounting standards.Salary Range : $165,000-$185,000 / year with full benefits including employer-paid medical coverage for employees and children, dental, and vision insurance, employer-paid basic life, long and short-term disability, and a company match for 403(b) retirement plans, and generous paid time off, including parental leave.This is a full-time, hybrid position.Ready to join Food Lifeline? Beyond our commitment to non-discrimination, we encourage applications from candidates who can contribute to the diversity of our organization and who have lived experience of inequity and connections to marginalized communities.Job Skills and Qualifications : Passion for eliminating hunger and its root causes, including poverty and systemic inequities.Expertise in the management of full-cycle month-end and year-end close management, external and internal audits, financial statements reporting and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, accrual basis accounting, cash management and cash flow, banking and investments, inventory accounting, account reconciliations, efficiency improvements, process automation, accounting systems setup, procedures documentation, consolidation reporting, budgeting and forecasting, internal controls, financial risk / fraud mitigations, and accounting standards.Adept at unifying and motivating teams to action in a fast-paced environment.Experience in creating and implementing accounting internal controls, policies, and procedures that are in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, functions, and data manipulation and analysis.Advanced experience with Microsoft Navision and / or other accounting software, Microsoft Office, payroll solutions such as ADP, and other financial enterprise software.Lived experience of inequity / oppression and connections to marginalized communities.Demonstrated experience working effectively with a board, finance committee, and a diverse range of stakeholders in support of managing / reporting large nonprofit organizations.Strategic thinker willing to test new methods and approaches. Demonstrated willingness to reiterate your strategy and approach with the ability to course correct as necessary.Demonstrated project management skills. Working knowledge of best, promising, and emerging practices and innovations in the accounting field, regionally and nationally.Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information effectively and confidentially.An appreciation of, and enthusiasm for, involving staff in understanding and using fiscal knowledge to enhance their programs, decisions, and professional growth.Experience working cooperatively within and across teams; belief in the value and power of participatory decision-making.Outstanding interpersonal skills : good listener and thoughtful respondent; positive influencer; flexible communicator who can adapt to fit cultural context and circumstances.Organizational level skills and experience for exempt employees include : Disposition and willingness to innovate, problem solve, test, fail and adjust.Experience in modeling intercultural competence and demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and social justice.Demonstrated ability to think strategically, take initiative, and to maintain confidentiality.Project coordination and organization skills; ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail; meet deadlines, ability to handle interruptions, and produce timely, accurate work.Self-directed, meets benchmarks and checks assumptions about results and end goals.
