POSITION SUMMARY

The Cash Application Specialist will receive daily payments from a variety of sources and deposit in fully each day with proper recording of the payments in a variety of platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Daily processing of cash receipts and postings to customer accounts, including adjustments to customer accounts for credits / debits and account write-offs.
  • Ensure inter-company transfers are posted and handed off properly and non-customer payments posted properly.
  • Identify daily unapplied amounts, post to customer accounts, and research fully.
  • Maintenance of records for auditing purposes (filing remittances, bank statements, approved write offs).
  • Receiving and recording of all payments received from lockbox, EFTs, wire transfers, credit cards, checks, multiple offices, etc.
  • Support client and corporate management with respect to any relevant issues relating to cash receipts, applications, and collections.
  • Encodes checks and balances checks received to cash receipts and encoding machine totals.
  • Maintain proper audits to ensure claims system Fund Balance is accurate on Assured Benefit Administrators’ owned bank accounts.
  • Maintain proper techniques for downloading bank activity.
  • Provide a high level of customer service to clients, brokers, internal customers (i.e. Account Management and Sales), and Management.
  • General ledger entries related to deposits.
  • Write and / or review Standard Operating Procedures for cash postings.
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Other job duties include, but are not limited to the following :

  • May perform other duties as required.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

  • 3 years of cash application experience
  • 10-key / typing by touch required (must type 10,000 key strokes or more)
  • 2 years of Accounts Receivable experience, required
  • Experience working in a high volume, fast paced environment with accuracy, required
  • High Level of accuracy and efficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow through
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information that must not be shared with others.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Power Point
  • Healthcare Administration knowledge preferred
  • Must be able to commute to our Dallas office on a daily basis.
