POSITION SUMMARY
The Cash Application Specialist will receive daily payments from a variety of sources and deposit in fully each day with proper recording of the payments in a variety of platforms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following :
- Daily processing of cash receipts and postings to customer accounts, including adjustments to customer accounts for credits / debits and account write-offs.
- Ensure inter-company transfers are posted and handed off properly and non-customer payments posted properly.
- Identify daily unapplied amounts, post to customer accounts, and research fully.
- Maintenance of records for auditing purposes (filing remittances, bank statements, approved write offs).
- Receiving and recording of all payments received from lockbox, EFTs, wire transfers, credit cards, checks, multiple offices, etc.
- Support client and corporate management with respect to any relevant issues relating to cash receipts, applications, and collections.
- Encodes checks and balances checks received to cash receipts and encoding machine totals.
- Maintain proper audits to ensure claims system Fund Balance is accurate on Assured Benefit Administrators’ owned bank accounts.
- Maintain proper techniques for downloading bank activity.
- Provide a high level of customer service to clients, brokers, internal customers (i.e. Account Management and Sales), and Management.
- General ledger entries related to deposits.
- Write and / or review Standard Operating Procedures for cash postings.
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
