What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst/Associate/AVP, Infrastructure Finance position at Assured Guaranty?
Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to support new business in the U.S. project finance/infrastructure market including assisting in evaluating complex transactions, assisting in writing credit reports, preparing financial models and assisting in making insurance recommendations to Assured senior management and credit committee. Candidate must be analytical and motivated to learn.
Position Description
Business Development/Marketing
Actively support general marketing efforts such as attending conferences as well as assisting in arranging and hosting client events.
Develop new business relationships to help originate future business.
Communicate Assured Guaranty credit criteria and basic business parameters to bankers and advisors.
Analytical
Understand monoline risk appetite and evaluate financial guaranty opportunities.
Assist in analyzing infrastructure/project finance and complex muni structured credits.
Prepare and perform cash flow modeling and sensitivity analysis to include in credit presentations.
Assist in preparing underwriting reports and performing oral presentation to credit committee.
Assist in working with legal staff to review documents, negotiate and close transactions.
Candidate Background
Experience in underwriting/investing/lending to U.S. P3, transportation, energy or social infrastructure transactions is helpful either at a monoline, asset manager or private equity.
Experience analyzing demand risk (e.g. traffic risk or student housing rental risk) is helpful.
Experience analyzing construction risk is helpful.
Experience in reading and negotiating legal documents for infrastructure and project finance transactions is helpful.
Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial modelling skills is a requirement.
Ability to write credit reports is preferred.
Ability to prepare PowerPoint presentations is preferred.
Compensation
Annual base salary for the position is expected to be from $90,000 per year to $130,000 per year. The actual salary will depend on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience and credentials, salary expectations of applicable candidates, and other applicable market conditions. This position also provides applicable employee benefits, as well as eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.
