US Salary Range: $159,000 - $200,000
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and development of trusted systems that facilitate secure cross-domain access and data transfer across multiple security levels.
- Architect and implement software solutions that provide secure, reliable, and high-performance data transfer between isolated domains while adhering to strict security policies.
- Collaborate with product teams, security professionals, and stakeholders to define and enforce security requirements for cross-domain solutions.
- Guide the design and implementation of security mechanisms, including data classification, encryption, access control, and auditing in high-assurance environments.
- Evaluate and mitigate security risks in cross-domain systems, ensuring the integrity of data and compliance with government and industry standards (e.g., DISA STIGs, NIST).
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers, ensuring best practices for secure system development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate trusted system solutions into larger enterprise environments.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in secure systems, cross-domain solutions, and emerging security technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity or related field and 15 years’ experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of professional software development experience, with a focus on secure software systems, trusted systems, and cross-domain solutions.
- Extensive experience with cross-domain access and data transfer protocols, secure data handling, and high-assurance systems.
- Expertise in secure coding practices, encryption, secure communications, and access control mechanisms.
- Experience with security standards and frameworks, such as NIST SP 800-53, ISO/IEC 27001, FIPS 140-2, and others.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C , Python, or Go, with a focus on security-focused software development.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and secure communication systems.
- In-depth understanding of security protocols, such as TLS, IPsec, and public-key infrastructure (PKI).
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in secure software development and cross-domain integration.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Security certification or similar foundational cybersecurity certification.
- Experience with virtualization, containerization, or orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes in a secure context.
- Familiarity with formal methods for verifying secure systems and their behavior.
- Experience with database replication technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB) and their secure deployment in cross-domain environments.
- Experience with Raise the Bar (RTB) requirements and ensuring compliance with RTB security protocols and policies, including the development and implementation of systems that adhere to RTB guidelines.
- Deep knowledge of trusted system architectures, including cross-domain security policies, secure data transfer technologies, and ensuring compliance with multi-level security systems.
- Experience with security standards and frameworks such as NIST SP 800-53, ISO/IEC 27001, and FIPS 140-2, and other government or industry regulations that guide trusted systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams in the development of secure software solutions, as well as provide guidance on cross-domain system integration and ensuring compliance with security best practices.
