Director of Claims and Reinsurers

Overview

Assist with the management of statewide workers’ compensation branch operations  insured and self-insured programs.   Work with new and existing clients to reinforce our WC services and cost containment programs.  Support with reinsurer and carrier communication on all aspects of branch operations.

Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

• Manage Goals and Initiatives for WC
• Provide support to WC VP with client needs
• Interface with clients on WC operations
• Oversight and support for compliance and accountability to ensure claims excellence
• Oversight of claim issues from audits and follow through with the claims team on appropriate training etc..
• Participate in catastrophic claims management strategic calls
• PIPS Large loss – participate in committee to review large losses and provide guidance to the claims team for quick resolution and best outcomes for our clients and reinsurers.
• Participate in reinsurer and carrier roundtable on claims
• Enforce Best Practices development program through regular monthly tracking and feedback to management team.
• RFPs – assist AE and Marketing with technical proposal responses and oral presentations
• Assist WC VP with month-end data integrity compliance
• Special Projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of workers’ compensation handling or related experience required.
• Self-Insurance Certificate or ability to pass Self-Insurance Exam within one (1) year of hire.  
• Must have California Experienced Adjuster and Post-Designation Certificates.
• Effective organizer, planner, self-starter and leader requiring minimal supervision.
• Excellent managerial skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be available to travel within California.
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required.

Compensation:

The target salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $170,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Remote work environment flexibility but candidate must have California workers' compensation claims experience.

Salary : $150,000 - $170,000
