The Program Development Representative is responsible for partnering with existing agents and appointing new ones, to acquire new and retain existing profitable accounts, including via in-person visits and other means to increase sales for the assigned program.

What You'll Do
- Develop effective business relationships with current agents to increase business and with new agents to develop new streams of revenue.
- Recruit new retail agents to sell products
- Promote assigned products and services with agency staff at all levels.
- Meet with agency principals to have business conversations that advance deeper partnerships while also being able to meet with producers, account managers, and agency staff to increase engagement, commitment, and production with Breckenridge.
- Visit appointed agents regularly to review production, loss experience
- Identify and appoint independent agents committed to profitable growth goals consistent with Breckenridge’s revenue plan and strategic objectives.
- Lead and drive agency planning, agency visits/calls, and agency reviews for assigned territory to deliver business outcomes and achieve territory business objectives.
- Provide advice and consulting support on our products to agents and their staffs, including product introduction, training and reinforcement.
- Inspire and motivate assigned agents to meet/exceed individual and territory growth and profit objectives.
- Provide personal and commercial field underwriting support for our underwriting staff and agents: i.e. inspections and quotes.
- Identify, capture, and share intelligence on competitors’ value propositions, marketing/sales/ underwriting practices, and product/rate changes.
- Keeps abreast of industry changes and trends by attending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and providing feedback and information on the market and creative trends.
- Forecast sales targets, participate in the goal setting process and help ensure goals are achieved.
- Understand the competition’s strategy and Breckenridge’s value proposition to effectively present the benefits of working with Breckenridge and our products.
- Approximately 80% travel may be required, including overnight travel.
- Other related duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in business (or related field of study) and seven years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Industry certifications or designations strongly preferred.
- Active producer’s license is required.
- Active driver’s license and good driving history is required.
