ASSYST is seeking a highly experienced EHR Project Manager to lead the implementation and migration of an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system for our client in Austin, TX.
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with best practices and standards. This role requires strong expertise in EHR application implementation, data migration, workflow analysis, and stakeholder coordination.
Please Note: Position is hybrid. The program will only allow candidates who are within the City of Austin or the surrounding cities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage project documentation including business case workbooks, project charters, schedules, biennial operating plans, amendments, and risk management plans.
- Coordinate and oversee requirements gathering, solution vendor activities, and application/data migration efforts.
- Establish a data conversion and migration strategy in collaboration with IT teams and business owners.
- Work closely with stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to the new EHR system.
- Develop and execute the implementation strategy while ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standards.
- Act as a liaison between business users and vendors, facilitating clear communication and addressing project concerns.
- Conduct workflow analysis to optimize HHSC operations and recommend process improvements.
- Monitor project performance, prepare concise reports, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Conduct regular team status meetings and provide weekly status updates (both written and verbal) to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Utilize project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Excel, Word, and Visio to track progress and manage deliverables.
- Manage and direct the activities of data migration teams, ensuring efficient and accurate transfer of legacy data.
- Work with system analysts and subject matter experts to document business workflows and address vendor queries.
- 10 years of experience managing multiple projects, specifically in EHR implementation or similar large-scale application rollouts across large organizations.
- Expertise in database management, including knowledge of Intersystem Cache, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Excel, Word, Visio).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and correlate data for effective decision-making.
- Hands-on experience in data migration, mapping, cleaning, and application migration.
- Ability to lead diverse teams and manage vendor relations effectively.
- Experience in workflow analysis, SDLC processes, and software engineering practices.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to facilitate ownership and understanding of project goals.
- Expertise in providing regular project updates, tracking progress, and resolving issues proactively.
- 5 years of experience with SaaS-based EHR systems and cloud data migrations.
- 2 years of experience with HHSC Federal/State processes and documentation, including project business case workbooks and charters.
- PMP Certification or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Familiarity with global, regional, and local software architecture and infrastructure components.
