ASSYST is seeking a highly skilled Training Specialist/Instructor to support our client in Rockville, MD. This role requires expertise in developing training materials, process documentation, and effective communication strategies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging training content and delivering courses that enhance employee understanding and minimize resistance to change. Additionally, the Training Specialist will collaborate with the Change Management team and other business partners to ensure seamless knowledge transfer across the organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop subject matter expertise in specific functional areas to create effective training and communication materials.
- Assist in developing training plans, schedules, and managing the ongoing technology training program based on organizational needs.
- Evaluate new training opportunities, liaise with vendors, and manage vendor relationships.
- Create visually clear business process documentation and demonstrate system functionality to various user levels.
- Design strategic communications, internal marketing, and training materials in collaboration with functional subject matter experts.
- Develop quick start guides, job aids, and other training materials.
- Conduct both formal and informal presentations to build foundational knowledge before systems training.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and foster positive engagement in response to operational and organizational changes.
- Assess organizational needs through interviews, surveys, and focus groups to identify training gaps and align initiatives with the County Executives’ objectives.
- Utilize tools like Camtasia and Adobe Captivate to create system-based training materials.
- Develop organizational metrics to measure training success over time in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Establish strong relationships with management and employees to build trust and collaboration.
- Apply principles of organizational design, change management, and organizational development in training initiatives.
- Oversee training coordination and administration, including scheduling, tracking attendance, and managing course information in the LMS.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in system-based content development for applications, tools, and business processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in organizational design, analysis, and employee engagement group facilitation.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to foster a team-oriented work culture.
- Proven ability to build consensus among stakeholders, management, and employees at all levels.
- Proficiency in process analysis, documentation, and process mapping.
- Experience in designing training curricula, job aids, and multimedia training materials using Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and other web-based tools.
- Knowledge of medium to large-scale organizational change management initiatives.
